Xowié, a young singer-songwriter from South Africa, has been revealed by Apple Music as the newest artist to be featured in its Up Next artist development program in South Africa.
Originating in KwaZulu-Natal, Xowié’s music is influenced by a wide range of styles, including pop, reggae, and R&B. Themes of self-confidence, body acceptance, and love are explored in her music, which draws inspiration from modern artists like SZA, Victoria Monét, and Raye as well as legendary voices like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Lauryn Hill.

After making her debut with the track “Rainy Days,” Xowié is now prepared to take the stage globally and share her message of empowerment and genre-defying sound with listeners everywhere. Through her music, Xowié hopes to inspire Black women—particularly those from townships—to dream bigger and overcome their current situation.
“I’m thrilled to be part of Apple Music’s Up Next,” she shares with Apple Music. “This is a huge moment for me, and I can’t wait to share my new music with the world.”
Xowié
“Nobody’s Fool,” Xowié’s most recent hit, is a fearless and unrepentant song about taking control following a bad romantic encounter. In private moments, she playfully draws attention to her partner’s weaknesses by calling them out with a blend of frankness and vulnerability. The song is from her next EP, ALLO (A Little Long Overdue), which Exodus Records plans to release in April 2025.
