Tyla makes African Music History on Spotify

Tyla has become the first African solo artist to have an album appear on the global Spotify albums chart for 52 weeks in a row. This marks a significant turning point in the South African phenomenon in the music industry.

The 23-year-old musician broke records by keeping her album “TYLA” at the top of Spotify’s global albums ranking for a whole year.

Since its debut in July 2023, the musician’s breakthrough single “Water” has attained extraordinary success, topping numerous Billboard charts, taking home a historic Grammy Award, and garnering praise at important music award shows.

“This milestone is a testament to her talent, hard work, and the power of music to transcend borders,”
