Following the successful release of Love in the “Trenches” EP (2023) and the high-energy “Smoke Pack” earlier this year in May, TDB proudly presents “Heartwork“, an emotional and vulnerable exploration of love, passion, tough decisions, and losses.
The project released on Friday, November 29th, 2024, is a six track story of emotional crests and troughs featuring distinctive Afrobeats and pop sounds.
With “Heartwork“, TDB presents a unique cocktail of melodies exploring the depths of relatable themes such as unrequited love, loss, rekindling old flames, etc, and other themes that resonate with the affairs of the heart. For TDB, this is not just a music project—it’s a reflection of his evolution, a celebration of the beauty of vulnerability, and a call to his listeners to embrace theirs.
“Heartwork” is TDB’s most introspective project yet; a journey through the highs and lows of love, told through soulful rhythms and beautiful storytelling. The project begins with a confession of love on “More” featuring Esse VDM, only to be friend-zoned and left pleading his way out of the zone which seems successful on “Be Mine” featuring Deeachi.
When his love interest finally consents, she challenges him to choose between her and the music, his life-long passion. Torn between passion and love, he begs her to stay, but she eventually leaves which birthed the next track “Wait on Me” featuring Cracker Mallo.
As he tries to rekindle “Old Flames” (featuring Adam Srae), he hopes for a happy ending (“Save My Soul” featuring Dwin the Stoic)—until tragedy strikes, he loses her to the warm embrace of death leaving him to honor her memory through “Unspoken Words”. Heartwork captures the transient nature of love, a reminder that every romance leaves a lasting imprint, even as it fades.
