Lady Gaga, Olivia Dean, Drake, and other celebrities were on repeat during the previous 12 months, according to Barack Obama, who is continuing his custom of sharing his favourite songs of the year in 2025.

The former US president posted images on social media on Thursday, December 18, that included his favourite books, films, and songs from 2025. Mother Monster’s Mayhem hit song “Abracadabra,” Dean’s “Nice to Each Other,” Drizzy’s “Nokia,” Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s 13-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Luther,” and Chappell Roan’s “The Giver” were some of his favourite songs.

Additionally, the politician has been enjoying the songs “Jump” by BLACKPINK, “Faithless” by Bruce Springsteen, “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas” by Rosalía, “Just Say Dat” by Gunna, “Silver Lining” by Laufey, and “Ordinary,” a 2025 chart staple by Alex Warren.

“As 2025 comes to a close, I’m continuing a tradition that I started during my time in the White House: sharing my annual lists of favorite books, movies, and music,” Obama wrote. “I hope you find something new to enjoy—and please send any recommendations for me to check out!”

It’s not just the two-term president who shares his favourite songs of the year. Earlier in December, Billboard released the year-end charts and its 2025 staff selections for both songs and albums.

Obama enjoyed films such as One Battle After Another, Sinners, Hamnet, and others, as well as novels like Ron Chernow’s Mark Twain and Madeleine Thien’s The Book of Records.
