The attempt by Tory Lanez to have some of his convictions and sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion overturned has been rejected.
On Tuesday, August 12, writer Meghann Cuniff of Legal Affairs & Trials reported that the California Court of Appeals denied a large part of his appeal.
Both habeas petitions were dismissed, one related to the non-testimony of Lanez’s driver and the other to a new statement made by a security guard for Kelsey Nicole Harris during the trial.
Lanez’s primary appeal is still pending and is set for oral argument in Los Angeles on Monday, August 18, even though these particular claims will not proceed.
