During a heated X rant, Nicki Minaj called out Jay Z and put him on blast.
Following weeks of disparaging the rapper and media tycoon, Minaj reiterated her recent allegations on Tuesday, July 8, that Jay-Z owed her millions of dollars for her Tidal investment.
Fifteen artists, including Nicki, Beyoncé, Rihanna, J. Cole, and Ye, received three percent of Tidal equity when the music platform was launched in 2015, when it was valued at $56 million. Square, owned by Jack Dorsey, purchased Tidal in 2021 for $302 million. Following the transaction, Minaj and the other famous owners allegedly retained their ownership. According to the rapper, she was given $1 million for her stake in the business, rather than the about $9 million (3 percent of $300 million) that would have been received if the business had been valued at the Square sale price.
Nicki during the rant on X alleged that her “Monster” collaborator now owes her an amount nearing the entire price of the sale.
“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest,” she wrote.
Minaj added that the rapper remains among her favorites. “You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it n***a,” she continued.
The Pink Friday 2 artist concluded by saying that fans who call Jay-Z “Hov” must “answer to God for the blasphemy.”
Minaj reposted Barbz who backed her. She also said that she’d use the money she claims is owed to her “to send some of my Barbz to college, pay their school fees & student loans via my #StudentOfTheGame charity.”
