Nigerian rapper Olamide has reunited with Wizkid for a new single titled ‘Kai’.
Released on Monday [April 28], the track marks Olamide’s second release of the year after ‘Idan Buruku’. The song serves as the lead single to the rapper’s forthcoming 11th studio album slated for on June 9.
The new collaboration, their fourth together after hits like Omo To Shan (2011), Kana (2018), and Totori (2019), blends Olamide’s street-hop energy with Wizkid’s smooth Afrobeats finesse, delivering a potential smash.
‘Kai’ is a nice Afrobeats tune that resonate with listeners. Featuring a pulsating beat that merges Olamide’s signature street vibe with Wizkid’s melodic flow, creating a dancefloor-ready track that captures the essence of both artists at their peak. Olamide kicks off with his commanding Yoruba-laced verses, longing for his love interest while dubbing himself as “Mr Romantic.” Wizkid follows with a stellar verse, his silky vocals, with fans on social media already lauding his contribution as “goated.” The chemistry between the two is electric, with their contrasting styles—Olamide’s delivery and Wizkid’s laid-back charm—blending seamlessly to create a luxurious, replay-worthy vibe.
