The legendary collaboration of Pharrell Williams and NIGO, responsible for innumerable cultural landmarks, is reuniting in Tokyo for a bold new project called Japa Valley Tokyo. This one-hectare complex near Yurakucho Station scheduled to open in 2027, offers a distinctive fusion of retail, hospitality, and art. Imagine the Napa Valley in California, but with a decidedly Japanese twist: imagine sake breweries in place of vineyards. Created in collaboration with Japanese hospitality pioneer NOT A HOTEL, this limited-edition destination will turn the location of the former Shin-Yurakucho Building into a bustling, immersive district.
Japa Valley Tokyo, which will be co-chief visionary for the project, is more than just a short-term attraction; it is a manifestation of the two decades of friendship and creative cooperation between Pharrell and NIGO. A dynamic and culturally rich experience is anticipated at the complex, which will include original artwork by KAWS and a rotating roster of pop-up installations from well-known artists, chefs, and designers. This fascinating partnership strengthens Pharrell and NIGO’s position as investors and creative advisors for NOT A HOTEL, whose avant-garde approach to hospitality is a wonderful fit with their mutual goal of carefully chosen, impactful experiences.
