With a series of trademark applications, Taylor Swift is beginning a new chapter in her life.
The 35-year-old pop star’s business, TAS Rights Management LLC, applied to obtain the acronym “TLOAS” for a range of products, including music recordings, instruments, jewellery, candles, clothing, cell phone accessories, and more, only hours before she unveiled her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Among the more surprising products in Swift’s request are incense burners, wireless speakers, puzzle board games, inflatable toys, paintbrushes, shoe laces, Christmas tree skirts, bean bags, and a tonne more, according to the trademark filing that Complex examined.
Swift has filed similar trademarks for her past albums, so this move isn’t unusual, and it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that all of these goods will be produced.
There are currently no details available about Swift’s twelfth studio album, Showgirl.
Fans have already started figuring out the LP’s easter eggs, though, by pointing out that Max Martin and Shellback are featured on her most recent Spotify playlist, suggesting that they worked on the upcoming album.
On Monday, August 11, Swift made the album official by posting a countdown on her website that ended at 12:12 a.m. the next day.
In a future episode of the New Heights podcast, which Travis and Jason Kelce co-host, she will go into further detail about the album. A blurred-out record cover and Swift revealing the album to an unprepared Jason were featured in an episode teaser.
Swift’s New Heights episode premieres at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 13.
This year is anticipated to see the release of The Life of a Showgirl.
