After months of active multi-sport activities, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be closed with a musical celebration.According to reports, the August 11th closing ceremony will feature live performances from Los Angeles’ most talented and hottest artists such as Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish and Hot Chilli Peppers. The musicians will represent different facets of the cultural heritage of L.A.
The artists will be seen from Los Angeles in a mix of pre-taped and live performances, a musical handover for the 2028 L.A. Olympic Games according to the Variety publication.
Highland Park native Billie Eilish has become the voice of the favourite and refined musicians of her generation with her well-crafted songs and captivating voice. Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? earned her the youngest artist to get 4 major Grammy nominations in a single year and also peaked on the Billboard 200 chart.
Rap icon and actor Snoop Dogg has not only been a spectator at the Paris Olympics but also a prominent and highly-profiled figure, from running a commentary for international media NBC to becoming the U.S. Olympic torchbearer.
Rounding out the musical trifecta are hometown heroes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Formed in Los Angeles in 1983, the band has been a driving force in the city’s music scene for decades.
