Following the passing of the legendary American producer Quincy Jones on Nov 3, his cause of death has been revealed.

According to a document from the Los Angeles County Department Of Public Health, Jones died from pancreatic cancer without contributing factors.

The medical document further indicated that the late iconic producer had lived with cancer for years before giving up to the ghost on the 3rd of November.

As reported by the Associated Press, while he has already been laid to rest by his close relatives, a larger and befitting memorial service is being planned in his honor.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Pancreatic cancer is rarely discovered in its early stages and thus often leads to a dire prognosis.

Following his passing, world leaders including former U.S. President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris took to their official social media platforms to mourn him and pay their last respect to him.

Musicians Schoolboy Q, Jennifer Hudson, The Weeknd, Manifest, Angelique Kidjo, etc also took to social media to pay tribute to the deceased.

Jones’ daughter, actor Rashida Jones of “Parks and Recreation” fame, paid tribute last Thursday on Instagram.

“My dad was nocturnal his whole adult life,” she wrote. “He kept ‘jazz hours’ starting in high school and never looked back. When I was little, I would wake up in the middle of the night to search for him. Undoubtedly, he would be somewhere in the house, composing.”

Jones certainly curated a discography that few could ever match. He not only composed the acclaimed score for “Roots” and the beloved theme song for “Sanford and Son,” but collaborated with Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra and produced Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
