According to Quavo, NFL players don’t actually wear real jewellery.
The Migos alumnus expressed his doubts about the legitimacy of NFL players’ jewellery during his attendance at The Players Party 2025 in Atlanta on Monday, July 14.
When asked if he thinks rappers or NFL stars have better jewelry, Quavo told Complex, “Rappers, because some of their jewelry—I don’t think it be real. We take a lot of risk, you know what I’m saying, and wear our real jewelry out in the public. I don’t think it be real.”
It’s interesting that his perspective is similar to that of NBA player Anthony Edwards, who in a December 2023 interview with Complex’s Speedy Morman freely acknowledged that a large portion of his jewellery is phoney.
That’s two chains, but the little one is like some bullshit for real,” Edwards said about one of his pieces at the 14-minute mark here. “It really was fake, it just look real … People gon’ think it real anyway, because it’s me … I ain’t gonna spend all that money on that jewelry.”
In 2023, Justin Fields, a star for the New York Jets, told GQ that he buys his jewellery from Amazon because “they shine just as much as real ones.” I am aware that many jewellers would not be pleased to hear this, but since I am frugal, I will choose the jeweller who is offering the best jewellery at the lowest cost.
