American rapper Playboi Carti continues to create buzz around the release of his much-anticipated ‘I Am Music’ full-length studio album.
Instead of dropping on Digital and Streaming platforms, Carti continues to release singles on his social media platforms .
On Friday (Nov. 22), the Atlanta rapper released “Play This” on his @opium_00pium Instagram account to follow up on his recent ComplexCon performance in Las Vegas.
With the strategy of dropping on his social media, producer Cardo, a frequent collaborator of the Atlanta rapper believes he maybe testing the waters being that he’s always experimenting with new sounds and flows.
In the Roark Bailey and V-Ron-produced single, Carti is rapping about making women go crazy, doing various narcotics, and opps. “Play This” is an interesting record and a good warm up for the rapper’s forthcoming LP.
Hopping in the comments section of the song’s post on Instagram, he disclosed that he released it because it’s one of his favorites. “IM NOT DONE AT ALL DIS SUM COOL S— I WANTED YALL TO HEAR BC I LOVE DIS SONG BUT DA SHIT DATS ON MY ALBUM OVRLY TRIMM.” he wrote.
He mentioned the album and revealed that Ye is currently working on it with him during a recent club appearance. “Shout out to my n—a Kanye, you know what I’m saying,” he told the crowd as their No. 1 hit “Carnival” played. “He over here making beats and sh—t. That album gonna be crazy, I can’t wait to show y’all n—s.”
