Justin Bieber’s ‘SWAG’ Tops Streaming Albums & Songs Charts With His Biggest Streaming Week Ever

By

With his unexpected album SWAG, Justin Bieber dominates both Billboard’s Top Streaming Albums and Streaming Songs charts (dated July 26).

The SWAG song “Daisies” debuts at No. 1 on Top Streaming Songs, and the set debuts at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums.

According to Luminate, SWAG, which was unexpectedly released on July 11, begins with 155,000 streaming-equivalent album units sold in the US during the week ending July 17. That 155,000 unit total translates to 198.77 million official on-demand streams of SWAG’s songs in its first week, which is Bieber’s single-largest album streaming week ever.

The first week of Justice, which ended on March 25, 2021, had 119,000 streaming-equivalent album units, or 157.02 million official on-demand streams of its songs. This was Bieber’s previous largest streaming week for an album.

Furthermore, “Daisies” gives Bieber his seventh No. 1 on the 50-position Streaming Songs chart. He shares third place on the list with Kendrick Lamar. Drake has twenty-one No. 1s on streaming songs, whereas Taylor Swift has nine.

A total of 11 SWAG tracks dot the Streaming Songs chart — all debuts. Here’s a recap: “Daisies” (No. 1), “Yukon” (No. 7), “Go Baby” (No. 8), “All I Can Take” (No. 10), “Way It Is” (with Gunna, No. 17), “Things You Do” (No. 20), “Walking Away” (No. 22), “Butterflies” (No. 27), “Devotion” (with Dijon, No. 40), “Sweet Spot” (with Sexyy Red, No. 41) and “First Place” (No. 46).

The 50-position Top Streaming Albums chart ranks the most-streamed albums of the week in the U.S., as compiled by Luminate. Titles are ranked by streaming-equivalent album (SEA) units, where each SEA unit equals 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. If an artist has multiple albums containing the same song, SEA units for that song are generally assigned to whichever album sells the most by traditional album sales in a given week.
