Jennifer Lopez Denied Entry at Chanel Store After Security Failed to Recognize Her

When Jennifer Lopez was allegedly turned away from a Chanel boutique in Istanbul, her most recent shopping expedition took an unexpected turn.

On Monday, August 4, Jenny from the Block was at the upscale Istinye Park shopping centre when she went up to the Chanel store, according to Turkiye Today (via Page Six). She was allegedly prevented from entering by a security guard inside.

According to reports, the 56-year-old, who was wearing a baby pink suit and matching sunglasses, stayed composed and said, “OK, no problem,” before leaving the scene without a hitch.

Later, Lopez was asked to return by store staff, but she turned them down. Rather, she reportedly spent tens of thousands of dollars shopping at nearby designer retailers like Celine and Beymen.

Days have passed since Lopez’s August 5 performance in Istanbul, which was a stop on her 19-stop Up All Night summer tour, which started on July 8 in Vigo, Spain, and ends on August 10 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Lopez has been posting about her performances on Instagram on a daily basis, but she hasn’t shared anything about the Istanbul gig yet. A request for comment from Page Six was not answered by her agents.

Lopez has had a difficult run, and this Chanel moment only makes it worse. As previously reported, ticket sales for her planned “residency” in Las Vegas have been lower than anticipated. Prices for the limited run, which includes three New Year’s Eve performances and six March dates, range from roughly $121 to $1,300.

Regarding the long-term plan, industry insiders have differing opinions. One source stated that Lopez signed a contract for up to 100 shows over three years, while a Lopez spokeswoman stated that there aren’t any 100 shows planned and that she has the option to add more if she so chooses. According to reports, a “huge” fourth-quarter marketing campaign is in the works.

Her North American tour was cancelled last year due to sluggish demand, and the Vegas launch comes after that. Beyoncé and Dolly Parton, meanwhile, have sold out large runs at an unprecedented rate.
