Throughout her illustrious career, Halle Bailey has received numerous accolades, but the most recent one might be the most fulfilling and intimate.

The “Little Mermaid” actress is known for standing up for women’s rights and maternal health.

Bailey has been open about her difficulties after giving birth to her son, Halo, in 2023.

At the opening of its inaugural Maternal Health Summit on August 16 at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, the organisation Project Pit presented the 25-year-old with the honour. Its program highlights maternal health concerns and solutions for women, especially those in communities of colour.

Reacting to the honor in a statement shared on X, Bailey thanked the City of Los Angeles, describing the recognition as incredible and humbling.

She wrote ”I want to thank the City of Los Angeles for this incredible honor. To be recognized for speaking up about maternal health and my own postpartum journey is really humbling ❤️just a reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness, it’s the bridge that connects us all.”

Following Bailey’s well-documented problems with her ex-DDG over their son, she received the salute. Bravo for leveraging her position to raise awareness of such a worthy topic.
