Ghanaian R&B star and songwriter Gyakie has unveiled a cinematic trailer for her forthcoming debut studio album ‘After Midnight’.

Under the direction of renowned director Alex Piper, who has collaborated with Rema, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott, the film highlights Gyakie’s transformation from a musically talented youngster to a fully fledged celebrity, capturing her craft with cinematic depth.

Gyakie has a rich history as the daughter of renowned highlife musician Nana Acheampong, but “AFTER MIDNIGHT” makes a statement of its own: it’s a private, intensely personal production that was created nearly entirely in the middle of the night while she was thinking and creating.

The album examines love, heartbreak, joy, and spirituality, and is inspired by silent prayers, family customs, and the feelings that come to the surface after dark. “AFTER MIDNIGHT” is expected to be Gyakie’s most defining work to date because it is both universal and personal.

The album will be released on August 29.
