Gunna is geared up for another full studio project. Fans won’t have to wait much longer as the Atlanta rapper revealed on Monday, August 4, that his The Last Wun LP is on the road. It is scheduled to be released via DSPs on Friday, August 8.
Apple Music claims that Gunna’s sixth album has a total of 25 tracks, including the previously released singles “Won’t Stop” and “Him All Along.”
Turbo, a producer and frequent collaborator, commented on Gunna’s Instagram posts, stating, “It’s time,” suggesting that he is once again substantially involved.
A cinematic trailer for a potential LP documentary featuring the rapper’s fitness journey and a vintage video of a young Gunna trying to realise his musical dreams accompanied the news.
”I want longevity in the game, to be honest,” a younger Gunna can be seen saying. “I love this sh–, I love rapping.”
Fans have been speculating that this is Gunna’s last project on YSL Records/300 Entertainment because of the project’s title’s finality.
Since the YSL indictment, Gunna and YSL boss Young Thug don’t seem to get along. Last year, Thugger made fun of Gunna in a since-deleted tweet.
All of the 32-year-old’s albums have reached the top three of the Billboard 200 and reached the top of the Top Rap Albums list, but he hasn’t had a project reach the top of the chart since 2022’s DS4EVER.
“It’ll come to me just through life and just living,” Gunna told Uproxx of the new project. “So for this album in particular, it’s no theme. It’s in current time of what’s happening with me.”
