GloRilla Denies She Was ‘Busted’ for Cannabis, Calls Drug Arrest ‘Crazy’

Following her detention and drug possession charges, GloRilla has retaliated against the police for allegedly targeting her.

The rapper was arrested on Tuesday, July 22, at the Forsyth County Jail on charges of possessing more than one ounce of marijuana and a scheduled controlled substance. GloRilla was freed later that day after posting a $22,260 bond.

After officials went to “a report of a burglary in progress” at GloRilla’s Georgia home on Sunday, July 20, the Memphis native was taken into custody. The rapper was not home at the time, but according to reports, three suspects had broken in and started stealing things before being chased away by an armed occupant.

A “significant amount of marijuana” was found in the closet of the master bedroom, and deputies “detected a strong odour consistent with illegal narcotics” in the house, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Even though GloRilla was referred to as a “victim of a serious crime” by Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman, the rapper feels that she was unfairly singled out and addressed the issue on X.

“CRAZY‼️ My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis,” she wrote on Thursday (July 24).

GloRilla went on to say that she wasn’t “busted,” refuting reports that she had been robbed and was at home when the incident occurred. “Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested,” she said. That’s tea.”

The culprits in the home invasion are presently being sought. Marissa Goldberg and Drew Findling, GloRilla’s attorneys, told TMZ in a statement that the arrest is “a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become.”

The rapper was detained in Georgia in April of last year for driving while intoxicated, and her car was smelling of drugs and alcohol.
