Even though the week’s Billboard 200 news was dominated by the top 10 surge of Hip-Hop and Pop albums, Giveon was still able to raise awareness of R&B with the release of his eagerly anticipated sophomore album, “Beloved.”
Released on July 11, Giveon’s sophomore album “Beloved” debuted at number 8 on the updated Billboard 200, surpassing the #11 ranking of its predecessor, 2022’s “Give or Take.” The album, which was preceded by the singles “Twenties” and “I Can Tell,” marks a significant milestone for its GRAMMY-nominated owner as the largest first-week total he’s collected since his 2020 debut project.
After his 2021 compilation album “When It’s All Said & Done…Take Time” peaked at number five, “Beloved” marks his second trip to the Billboard 200’s top 10.
Days before Giveon announced his new headlining tour in support of the record, the “Dear Beloved Tour,” on Instagram, the Billboard 200 news was given.
He will take his army of well-known R&B hits to big cities including Vancouver, Atlanta, Toronto, Boston, Las Vegas, Houston, Los Angeles, and more during his North American tour, which begins in Seattle on October 1 and ends in New York City on November 6.
Free Nationals, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Sasha Keable are among the special guests.
