Ed Sheeran Announces 2026 Australian & New Zealand Loop Tour Dates

By

Even though Ed Sheeran is still on tour, the English musician is already planning a lot for 2026, beginning with a return trip to Australia and New Zealand.

On Tuesday, July 22, Sheeran revealed a revised itinerary of tour dates. The eleven-show trip to Oceania is scheduled to run from January to March 2026. Sheeran posted on Instagram that he was “beginning a brand new tour next year called the LOOP tour.” “All the classics plus a new stage, new tricks, new setup, and new songs.”

The musician will play stadiums in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, New Zealand, as part of the tour. After that, Sheeran will travel west for stadium appearances in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, before concluding with a performance at the Adelaide Oval in South Australia.

The tour takes place little under two months before Sheeran’s eighth album, Play, is set to be released on September 12. Days after Sheeran concludes his current +–=÷× Tour (also known as the Mathematics Tour), which ends with three shows in Düsseldorf, Germany, over three-and-a-half years after he started the journey, that release date is set.

Sheeran will be returning to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since February and March of 2023. Sheeran also broke attendance records during that tour, playing to 217,500 people at the Melbourne Cricket Ground across two shows. Each of the two performances surpassed the previous attendance record established by Eminem, a Sheeran collaborator, who performed in 2019 to 80,708 fans at the stadium.

Since Sheeran answered fans’ questions about his 2026 plans on his secret Teddy’s Vinyl Breakfast Instagram account in May, news of the forthcoming tour dates has been anticipated for some time. At the time, Sheeran said, “Oz/NZ top of next year, then Latam, then USA.”
