During his appearance at the Wireless Festival, Drake stepped into a current topic while giving a strong tribute to the UK rap culture.
While presenting Skepta to the audience during his Saturday night performance at the annual festival, the 6 God shared his thoughts on American and London rappers.
Drake remarked, “With all due respect to America, no one in the world can out-rap London rappers.”
Skepta’s post on X earlier this month sparked a flurry of discussion regarding the qualities of American and British rappers, which in turn prompted Drizzy’s statement.
“I wanna clash an American rapper anyway, finally get this US/UK rap debate sorted,” wrote Skepta in a post.
The Wireless Festival featured Drizzy as the main act on all three evenings. He invited Dave, Central Cee, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Yeat, Latto, and Vanessa Carlton to join Skepta on the second night.
Drake is anticipated to bring out dancehall and Afrobeats performers Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel for his third and last night at Wireless Fest. Drake introduced Giveon, Bryson Tiller, Mario, and Bobby Valentino to the crowd on the first night.
When Drizzy invited Lauryn Hill to perform “Nice for What,” which borrows Hill’s iconic 1998 track “Ex-Factor,” it was the biggest surprise during his set.
Following the release of his new single, “What Did I Miss?” which will be featured on his upcoming ninth album, Iceman, Drake is spending time in London.
Drake is entering the streaming industry in this new phase of his career. His broadcast of Iceman Episode 1 kicked things off. He recently extended an invitation to a few streamers to go to the Wireless Festival.
During Iceman Episode 1, Drake previewed several songs that are expected to show up on his new album.
