The DJ Mensah Foundation in collaboration with Kobby News Live and Akwaaba UK has donated desks and books to Akokoasa AEDA school in the Agona East Constituency, Central Region.
The Foundation made the donation on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, with support from some individuals and institutions including blogger Kobby Kyei, Avanni, Perfumebase, Pappaz Frozen Meat Market, Angel and Publishing Limited and Priscilla of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). Prisilla and Angel and Publishing Limited provided books to students of Akokoase AEDA School, Perfumebase donated perfumes to teachers while Pappaz Frozen Meat Market donated foodstuffs. The desks were made by Avanni.
The foundation extended the kind gesture and helping hand to the school months after Kobby Kyei shared photos of pupils of the institution learning while seated on the floor.
Sharing the photos on his X platform, the online journalist who doubles as a philanthropist called on government, NGOs, and philanthropic individuals to support this school with essential infrastructure and resources.
Months after his call, the DJ Mensah foundation donated the desks in addition to books in May 2025 to enhance the educational journey of the students.
Speaking during the donation, DJ Mensah expressed how honored he is and how the moment means to his foundation and his partners.
”It is a true honor to be here today on behalf of the DJ Mensah foundation, and the moment means a lot to us not just because we are donating desks and books but because we believe deeply in the power of education and the importance of creating a comfortable supportive environment for learning,” said the foundation’s founder.
Kobby Kyei also expressed how happy he is to help the Akokoasa school, thanking the DJ Mensah foundation for the kind gesture.
