Brandy and Monica are hitting the road for their first-ever co-headlining tour nearly 30 years after they topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks with their iconic duet.
Announced on Tuesday, Brandy and Monica will begin their upcoming tour at Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati on the 16th of October. The trek will make stops in major U.S. cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York before wrapping up on Dec. 7 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
The Black Promoters Collective-produced tour will feature four-time Grammy winner Kelly Rowland, two-time Grammy winner Muni Long, and American Idol season 23 champ Jamal Roberts as special guests.
Brandy expressing her excitement about the tour in a press statement said “This really is a full-circle moment.”
The release continued “Monica and I coming together again isn’t just about the music — it’s about honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come. ‘The Boy Is Mine’ was a defining chapter in R&B, and to share the stage all these years later is bigger than a reunion — it’s a celebration of growth, sisterhood, and the love our fans have given us from day one.”
Announcing their new tour with a cinematic short film helmed by filmmaker and production designer Ethan Tobman, the tour set in a maximum sound asylum trailer finds Brandy and Monica using their powerful and “forbidden” harmonies to break free.
“The love that ‘The Boy Is Mine’ continues to receive means everything to me,” Monica said in a press release. “This tour is a celebration of our history, our impact, and the fans who have grown with us. Brandy and I have been on our own unique journeys, and coming back together in this way is a reminder of the power of respect, strength, and real music. We’re giving the people what they’ve been asking for, and doing it with grace, love, and purpose. God’s timing perfectly aligned us.”
Brandy and Monica earned their 13th and fifth Grammy nominations, respectively with their featured turn on Grande’s “The Boy Is Mine” remix.
