Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known by his stage name Blaqbonez, has refuted recent accusations of harassment against him, calling them untrue, upsetting, and a part of a larger effort to damage his reputation.
The rapper addressed the situation head-on in an official statement posted on his X (previously Twitter) account on Monday, October 27, 2025, claiming that the claims were a “deliberate fabrication” perpetrated by specific people in the music industry.
According to Blaqbonez, the claims form part of a “sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation” that he has faced for several months. He revealed that he had previously chosen to remain silent despite enduring “repeated bullying, physical assaults, and online attacks” over the past year, believing that “the truth would speak for itself.”
Blaqbonez linked the allegations to a former personal relationship which, he said, ended peacefully but has now been manipulated and turned into a professional feud. “What began as a private matter between two adults has been twisted into a broader conflict within the industry,” he explained, accusing his rivals of using the situation to publicly discredit him.
He further stated that the allegations were “fabricated to damage my name, my work, and everything I’ve built,” expressing disappointment that some people “choose to weaponize lies for attention and revenge.”
The rapper affirmed that he has “nothing to hide” and that he is completely assisting the authorities to make sure the facts are made public. He also disclosed that legal action is being taken to deal with what he called persistent defamation and harassment.
Blaqbonez concluded his remarks by urging more empathy and compassion, stressing that “bullying, whether physical, digital, or psychological, must never be tolerated” and that “false accusations destroy real lives.”
He affirmed that his priorities are still his music, his peace, and clearing his reputation while thanking fans and supporters for sticking by him during the turmoil.
