A$AP Rocky at the New York City premiere of “Highest 2 Lowest” last night, Rocky, of course, attracted attention in Michael Rider’s fresh interpretation of Celine’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Co-stars Ice Spice and Denzel Washington joined director Spike Lee on the red carpet at the Brooklyn Academy of Music event.
The film reimagines Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 masterpiece “High and Low,” which was adapted from Ed McBain’s novel “King’s Ransom.” It opens in theatres on August 15 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting on September 5. The updated version casts Washington as a modern New York music tycoon going through a similar high-stakes situation, whereas the original focused on a shoe company executive who becomes entangled in a ransom plan following an unintentional kidnapping.
