Nigeria’s Breakout Star Delivers a Four-Track Emotional Blueprint, Led by High-Energy Anthem “GO GO!”
Fast-rising Nigerian artist Khaid announces the release of his highly anticipated EP, B4R&W (Before Rich & Wacko), a carefully curated four-track project that serves as the official prelude to his forthcoming debut album, Rich & Wacko.
More than a teaser, the EP is an emotional and sonic blueprint, inviting listeners into the evolving world of one of Africa’s most exciting young voices.
B4R&W is a vivid introduction to the thematic depth and sonic universe that Rich & Wacko will fully explore. Across its four tracks, the EP breaks down the complexities of human emotion into distinct stages — from vulnerability and self-reflection to ambition, chaos, and resilience — mirroring the unpredictability of everyday life.
The title itself speaks to duality. Before Rich. Before Wacko. It is a space where clarity meets confusion, where dreams begin to take shape but are still tested by reality. Through this lens, B4R&W captures Khaid in motion — navigating growth, pressure, and self-discovery — and positions the debut album as the next chapter of a story that is only just beginning.

In Khaid’s own words:
“Wacko” to me is streetwise confidence. It’s how you carry yourself in tough situations and stay solid no matter the circumstance.
For me, Rich & Wacko captures this point in my life where I’ve built some money and influence. People might see the branding and assume I’m just a “rich kid” from a wealthy family. But the truth is, I grew up on the street. I lived it. I experienced it.
I believe every person has a “wacko” side. Some think that way, but for me it was my reality. Even Jesus showed His “wacko side” in the Bible — John 2:15, Matthew 21:12-13, Mark 11:15-17. He was a good man, but when He was upset at what was happening in the temple, He took action. He scattered tables and drove them out. Sometimes people need to see that “wacko” action side of you to truly respect and regard you.
Rich & Wacko: The Project
The “Rich” songs represent the sound people already know me for — melodic, sweet records like “Jolie”, “With You”, “Jara”. Even my trap records still carry that “Rich” vibe.
