Uncle Waffles, a DJ and producer from Eswatini, southern Africa, is the newest international celebrity to appear in Adidas’ ‘Superstar: The Original’ campaign, which honours the sneaker’s lasting impact on culture and sport.

A multigenerational lineup of cultural trailblazers who personify what it means to be an Original Icon is featured in the campaign. Starring Missy Elliott, JENNIE, Anthony Edwards, Mark Gonzales, GloRilla, Teezo Touchdown, and Gabbriette, it is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson.

Uncle Waffles has revolutionised Amapiano with her high-voltage shows and contagious charisma, fusing deep house, jazz, and lounge influences and solidifying the South African sound in the international mainstream.

In 2023, she became the first DJ of the genre to play on a prominent stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, earning her the title of “Princess of Amapiano.” Waffles, who is only 25, has established herself in the profession in a distinctive manner. She has become one of the most exciting and well-known musicians in the scene thanks to her unique dancing style and viral social media presence, which have accelerated her career at a dizzying pace.
