A documentary on Nigeria Afrobeats megastar Wizkid’s rise as a global icon has been scheduled to premiere at this year’s Tribecca Film Festival.
The powerful documentary titled ‘WIZKID: LONG LIVE LAGOS’, captures Wizkid’s rise as a global icon reshaping how Africa is seen — and heard — around the world. Blending intimate moments, explosive performances, and cultural commentary, the film captures how Wizkid is using his platform to change perceptions, reclaim African identity, and inspire a new generation.

The documentary directed by Karam Gill which its announcement has sparked excitement among music fans is slated be shown at the festival on June 6, 7, and 11, 2025.
5-time Grammy-nominated Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti, Wizkid’s manager and partner Jada Pollock, his long-term manager Sunday Are, Julia Adenuga, and Seni Saraki, among other personalities who have worked closely with the Grammy winner are among the high-profile figures interviewed for the documentary.
At the festival, Wizkid and Karam Gill will be having a chat where the Nigerian megastar will give insights into his illustrious career.
Wizkid’s yet to be released documentary comes five years after the unveiling of a short film as part of the promotional materials for the deluxe version of his Grammy-nominated album ‘Made In Lagos’.
The documentary also puts Wizkid among the group of iconic musicians such as Fela Kuti and William Onyeabor who has had films capturing their illustrious careers.
