Since its introduction in 2012, the highly-profiled Guinness Ghana DJ Awards primary objective has been to empower, educate and reward hardworking DJs who make significant contributions to the growth of the entertainment industry in Ghana and beyond.
Gearing up for this year’s edition of the prestigious Ghana DJ Awards ceremony, an inaugural event will be held with a thrilling line-up of activities on Saturday, 20th June 2024.
According to the organizers, this year’s theme, “United by Music,” emphasizes the profound power of music to bring people together, especially in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections in Ghana. It underscores music’s role in fostering unity, harmony, and collective spirit, transcending differences and connecting diverse communities through shared rhythms and melodies.
Speaking at the launch which was graced by the presence of media personalities and industry stakeholders, Yaa Amoah Owusu Marketing Manager, Guinness Ghana PLC, underscored the brand’s aim to promote female DJs and also expressed excitement about the theme for this year’s event: United By Music.
She said “Music has the incredible ability to unite people from all walks of life. The ‘United By Music’ theme for this year’s Guinness Ghana DJ Awards is a celebration of that unity and the diverse talents that make up our vibrant music industry. We are excited to continue our journey of supporting and empowering DJs and artists in Ghana, and we look forward to an unforgettable event.”
The call for Entries was opened on the 26th of July 2024 and it is expected to run till the 20th of August. In a Facebook unveiling of the Call for Entries, the organizers wrote ” It’s time again to celebrate our talented, hardworking and creative DJs who connect us, uplift us, challenge us and, of course, always entertain us. Like past editions, this year’s edition promises to be much more fun and worth remembering as new categories have been announced. With the latest categories, the most outstanding DJ in each of the 16 regions in Ghana will be recognized.
