Sean Kington has been found guilty of wire fraud with his mother and received a sentence of several years in jail.
The singer of “Beautiful Girls” was just sentenced by a judge to 42 months in prison, which equates to 3.5 months in federal prison.
According to reports, Janice Turner, Kingston’s mother, received a five-year term for her involvement in the complex plot.
The pair was charged (and subsequently convicted) of defrauding companies out of almost $1 million through a fraud operation involving pricey goods like jewellery and luxury cars.
Kingston, 35, was facing six years in prison, but his defence team argued that a sentence closer to two years would be appropriate, citing his spotless record.
While agreeing with the relatively lighter sentence, the Florida judge insisted that it be served in a federal prison.
