Nigerian producer, Sarz, who collaborated with Wizkid, Asake, and Jamaican dancehall artist Skillibeng on the popular song “Getting Paid,” has officially won a UK Afrobeats Chart Award.
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the eagerly anticipated presentation was held at the BBC 1Xtra studio in London.
The award honours the song’s remarkable chart success, which began on October 5, 2025, at the top of the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and remained there for three weeks in a row. The song was praised for its catchy sound and widespread appeal. It can be found on Sarz’s first album Protect Sarz at All Costs, which was released on September 26.
“The album is banging and let’s just say, getting paid,” the presenter joked while praising Sarz for his consistency and the song’s supremacy during the live performance. My buddy, you’ve finally been able to join us while Wizkid, Asake, and Skillibeng maintained the top rank for three weeks. This is a postponed presentation.
Sarz grinned when accepting the prize plaque with the Official UK Afrobeats Chart emblem on it while wearing a black leather attire and dark sunglasses. “Thank you guys so much,” he said in his brief remarks, expressing his sincere gratitude to his UK supporters. I adore all of you. To be honest, this feels like a second home. I adore the United Kingdom.
“Sarz must be protected at all costs,” the emcee said in a light-hearted toast to end the event.
Sarz’s reputation as one of Africa’s most inventive and significant producers is reflected in Getting Paid, which features his trademark minimalist production combined with Asake’s engaging melodies, Wizkid’s fluid delivery, and Skillibeng’s dancehall flair.
