Lojay Postpones Debut Album ‘XOXO’ Release

By

Lojay, Nigerian singer and composer, has revealed that his eagerly awaited debut album, XOXO, will not be released on Friday, August 22, 2025.

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the celebrated artist informed fans about the postponement via his X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that a “little more time” was needed to polish the piece.

By formally introducing the body of work on his social media channels with a pre-save link and teases of a related tour, Lojay had already generated a lot of buzz around XOXO. Since his debut, Lojay has continuously carved out a distinct niche for himself in the changing Afrobeats scene because to his genre-bending style, lush melodies, and emotionally charged vocals. XOXO was characterised as a carefully crafted offering that was anticipated to be a significant turning point in his career and solidify his standing as one of the most innovative and adaptable talents in modern African music.

In his heartfelt tweet addressing the postponement, Lojay explained: “My people, I’ve been working on this album for the last 2 years and I’ve put so much of myself into it. There have been a few things out of my control that mean I need just a little more time before I can share it with you.”

“This being my debut album, it’s so important to me that when you press play, it feels timeless,” he said, underscoring his dedication to quality for his first album. I want to make sure it’s perfect after all this time. In order to get it there, we’re pushing it back a few weeks.”

“I truly hope you’ll still rock with me through this; your patience and support mean everything,” Lojay said in closing, thanking his fan base for their understanding. It will be worth the wait, I assure you.

Even though there isn’t a specific release date other than “a few weeks,” fans are urged to have patience because they know that the project will eventually reach the high artistic standards that Lojay has set for himself.
