Erykah Badu’s new album, Abi & Alan, which she co-produced with The Alchemist, will be released on Friday, August 29.
Consequence of Sound claims that the two are live previewing the entire project on the Abi & Alan Luv Is Tour before it goes live on streaming.
In those performances, Badu uses her trademark digital-analog fusion to play alongside The Cannabinoids, which includes RC Williams, A1, Rob Free, S1, and Jah Born.
Last month, “Next to You,” the album’s opening track, was released.
After releasing New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) in 2010, Erykah Badu’s first album in fifteen years is Abi & Alan.
Badu will return in the autumn for a different set of Mama’s Gun 25th-anniversary concerts under the name Mama’s Gun ’25: The Return of Automatic Slim Tour, following the conclusion of their August run with The Alchemist.
