Cardi B Is in Her CEO Era: ‘I’ve Seen Other Women Do It—So I Know I Can Too’

American rapper Cardi B is in her CEO era as she begins her entrepreneurial journey.

This comes after the rapper announced earlier this month that she is unveiling a fashion and beauty line in partnership with Revolve Group.

“Revolve knows the formula,” Cardi B tells ELLE exclusively at Revolve Festival in Indio, California, during Coachella. “They’re experienced when it comes to pushing a brand and building it up.”

Cardi B won’t be the first celebrity to collaborate with the Revolve Group as the brand had earlier partnered with Brazilian mega-influencer Camila Coelho on her eponymous line and supermodel Elsa Hosk on Helsa.

The brand succeeds with just a star power as the  women behind them are deeply involved in shaping the strategy. “They don’t just expect me to post on social,” Cardi says. “They’re helping me understand marketing and product quality, and they really get my vision.”

The rapper knew she needed a partner that could meet her at the level of her ambition with a sharp business instinct. “One thing about Revolve—I’ve been to their warehouse. I’ve seen how they work,” she says. “They know I don’t want anything cheap. I want everything to feel good, look good, and still be accessible. They really listen.”

From her longtime stylist Kollin Carter to her manager Patience Foster, Cardi is surrounded by a powerhouse team. “I have a great team,” she explains. “When it gets too hard while recording the album, I can count on them. Like, I know Patience is gonna handle it. I trust her completely.”

Cardi is also the co-founder of Whipshots, the vodka-infused whipped cream that’s already made a splash in addition to her upcoming fashion and beauty line. Balancing it all isn’t easy, but she’s stepping up to the challenge. “Right now, I’m overwhelmed but focused,” Cardi says. “Monday through Friday, it’s all business. I’m prepping to drop my album, launch two businesses, and still be there for my kids. It’s a lot—but I’ve seen other women do it, and I know I can too.”

Of course, no business journey comes without obstacles. With shifting tariffs impacting global commerce, Cardi’s not immune to the uncertainty. “Honestly, it’s scary,” she says. “But what can we do? We tried to warn them. I was out there knocking on doors.”

Still, she’s moving forward with optimism—and a love of fashion that continues to fuel her. When asked whether she’d choose a flawless face or a killer outfit, Cardi doesn’t hesitate. “Great outfit. Every time,” she says. “Your outfit speaks first. People see you walk in, and they’re like, ‘Oh, she looks good.’”
