Bryson Tiller Announces His ‘True’ Double Album ‘Solace & The Vices’

By

Bryson Tiller is returning and this time, he is giving fans a double project.

Tiller made the announcement of his forthcoming two-part album, Solace & The Vices, on Wednesday, July 30. According to a press statement, the record would experiment with various musical sounds and styles on each side.

The Vices, the first part, will be released on August 8. Tiller’s “gritty, high-energy side” will be explored by The Vices, who will play a selection of Tiller’s piercing lines over catchy melodies. In an Instagram post announcing the album, Tiller stated, “With ‘The Vices,’ I decided to get rid of my vices completely and prove to myself that I didn’t need Weed, Alcohol, and all the other shenanigans to have FUN.” “Since then, I have remained sober.”

Described as Tiller’s “own personal therapy session,” Solace is scheduled to arrive later this year. Through development, introspection, and general clarity, the record traverses an emotional journey. “My main objective when writing ‘Solace’ was to use it as therapy and express exactly what was on my mind, finding solace in my darkest moments,” he wrote. “It was satisfying.”

Tiller makes it clear on both sides of the album that he prefers telling a coherent narrative over releasing a number of songs at once. “Please understand that this is a REAL double album, not just 20+ songs I wanted to share,” he said.

Tiller has released two new songs in advance of the album: “Can We Talk” with Tink and “It Depends” featuring Chris Brown. Charlie Heat, Teddy Walton, Hitmaka, and Gravez will produce the album.

Ten years have passed since Tiller’s groundbreaking debut album Trapsoul, which produced successes like “Right My Wrongs,” “Exchange,” and the career-launching single “Don’t.”

Currently, Tiller is accompanying Brown on his Breezy Bowl XX Stadium Tour, which is scheduled to conclude in September.
