Rihanna is putting the spotlight on her Fenty Beauty brand with an elegant new advertisement.
She co-stars with ASAP Rocky in a vintage Hollywood film noir in the imaginative music video, and the two of them truly embrace the era. The title card, “Born To Steal,” is written in a font reminiscent of a movie when it first opens on RiRi.
In the ad, Rihanna is seen dancing while decked up in cosmetics reminiscent of the early 1900s and a diamond necklace. Later, she puts on a suit. The next scene sees ASAP Rocky showing in while she’s getting ready and trying things on, almost catching her in the act. He enters the room, but she’s deftly lurking out of sight, just like in mystery films.
Later in the video, Rihanna is jokingly referred to as the “blazer bandit” in an issue of the newspaper that he reads while the two of them eat breakfast. In essence, we are waiting for Rihanna to revive these kinds of films.
